Reverse the order of posts : 9 methods

We can, in a few seconds or minutes, AUTOMATICALLY reverse the order of all posts of a blog created with Blogger. To see what happens, click here : the effect is SPECTACULAR.

Some think and ... write that it is impossible. This page demonstrates the opposite.

A blog is normally designed to display first, intended for avid and regular readers, the last written post ; other posts are displayed from newest to oldest.

Bloggers wish, however, that the posts appear instead in reverse chronological order (from oldest to newest).

The first method is to insert the following code (IN ENGLISH) in the HTML version: a post used as "home" or a standalone page ("static"). By posting the code in this post or this page, the blog displays, 7 by 7 (or another number), all posts in chronological order, starting with the oldest.

NEW IN BLOGGER: IT IS POSSIBLE TO CALL ANY PAGE BY ITS NUMBER ... (to encode on the bottom of the page).

OTHER NOVELTY FOR BLOGGER : the VISITOR can change (in the post-footer) the number of posts per page, and decide to display summaries or not.

Displaying the post or the page containing the code, Blogger displays the first page with the desired number of posts in chronological order (from oldest to newest), with links to these posts.

The code (ENGLISH VERSION) is as follows:
<style type="text/css">#main{min-height:300px;}img.article_recent {padding:1px;width:55px;height:40px;border:0; float:left; margin:10px; margin-top:4px;margin-left:0px;margin-bottom:4px; background:#AFC6CE;} .goog-inline-block{display: none;} .footer-outer{}.date-header span{display: none;}.post-timestamp{display: none;}.post-author{display: none;}.post-comment-link{display: none;}.comments{display: none;}.blog-pager{display: none;}.home-link{display: none;}.blog-pager-newer-link{display: none;}.blog-pager-older-link{display: none;}</style><!-- place this code on a page in your blog --><script type="text/javascript">
var maxResults = 100; // 1-500 (500 maximum)
var numPerPage = 7; // number of posts displayed per page
var feedURIx = "/feeds/posts/default";
var theResult = null;
var longResumes = 300; // length summary: number of characters
var lirelasuite = 1; // 0 ou 1
var ordreMess = 1; // color of the page number to be encoded : from 0 (white) to 15 (black)
var vignette = 1; // small image : 0 or 1
var dateInf = 0; // date below the post : 0 or 1
</script><script src="">
</script><div id="feedDiv">
<i>Loading. Please wait .....</i></div>

var maxResults = 100
must be higher than the number of posts, but should be as low as possible to speed up the display.

Other settings are explained in the above code. Do not forget to adjust the color of the page number to encode (0 = white, 15 = black) to the background color of the relevant blog.

HOME: to insert the code in the home page, you must first do two things :
1) change the date of a post already published (otherwise it will appear later) with a later date (for example : in 2020) to appear always the first to open of the blog;
2) to ensure that this post appears alone on the page (in the "dashboard", click "Layout" - "Blog Posts", click on "Edit" - 1st line : select the number of posts per page: 1 - register).

To see what happens, click here : the effect is SPECTACULAR.

STATIC PAGE : if the code is inserted into an autonomous STATIC PAGE ("static"), simply add a link to this page. By clicking this link, it will display the first page with the number of posts required.

* * * * *
A second method is to ADD A WIDGET UP TO A LATERAL COLUMN. By clicking on a link, the visitor can reverse the order of messages : either display them in chronological order, or in reverse chronological order. The method is described on this page .

7 other methods are described on this page (in French, but a translator is available).
